Kia EV6 has a different style than its other electric vehicle counterparts. The company has provided distinct features in the car which will make it stand out from its competitors. The car is an SUV hatchback crossover with high ground clearance. This makes it suitable for less intense outdoor driving. It can be a good vehicle to go camping in.

Exterior

The exterior of the Kia EV6 is unlike any other car. The car has 20-inch alloy wheels for the top-end version. The front end of the car is shaped like a roaring tiger according to the designers. The backside is wrapped inside an end-to-end LED light bar. The sleek light bar is bright red and looks like a gift wrapping strip. The reverse indicator of the car is towards the bottom part of the car under the number plate.

The car has three color schemes. It comes in Steel Gray with a Black interior, Urban Yellow with a Black interior, and Glacier with a Green interior. The color of the car accentuates its bold styling. The front lights of the car are white and very aggressive like a tiger.

Interior

The car has a unique interior. It has a heated steering wheel as well as heated front and back seats. The sunroof of the car is ultrawide and gives a beautiful view of the sky. Kia has committed to making the car as sustainable and eco-friendly as possible. The car uses vegan leather which helps the company to reduce emissions of the vehicle. The leather is synthetic and uses no animal by-products. The car comes with Meridian Surround Speakers.

Sensors and Smart Tech

Like many new cars, the Kia EV6 has various sensors and cameras on its body. Using these cameras and sensors Kia is developing its own autopilot system. EV6 comes with a Highway Driving Assist Version 2, a Blindspot view monitor, and a Surround view monitor. The car is also equipped with Remote Smart Parking Assist. This feature parks the car automatically. This means the owner can get out of the car and it will park itself. This allows the car to fit into really tight spaces in which the driver couldn’t otherwise park.

Kia EV6 has an augmented heads-up display that indicates the speed of the vehicle, turn signals, and any other indicators present. The display can also show directions to the driver. The car has mood lighting which the driver can change. The car has two flat-screen displays. One of the displays is behind the steering wheel. This screen provides a virtual image of the car and its surroundings and the road under. It also shows the speed of the vehicle and the range of the vehicle.

Another screen is located centrally in between the front screen of the car. The driver can also see a detailed map on the screen if they choose to. The car is compatible with android auto and apple carplay. Kia has kept hard buttons to toggle the temperature control system. There are buttons below the center screen for the same as well as a radio and setup button.

Battery, range, and power

The car has a dual motor e-AWD (All-wheel Drive). The starting model has a range of 231 miles with a battery pack of 58 kWh capacity. The top-end version has a range of 265 miles with a 77.4 kWh battery pack. The car’s dual electric motors produce 576 horsepower of torque and go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. The 3.5 seconds 0 to 60 mph is the speed for the Kia EV6 GT, the top-tier version of the car. The all-wheel traction is available for the version with a 77.4 kWh battery pack only.

Charging

Kia has tried to alleviate the charging problem by providing a multi-charging system for 400 Volts and 800 Volts DC fast charging. The car has a ChadeMo charge socket which is now becoming a standard across electric vehicles. When the car is plugged into a 350-kilowatt charger, it charges the car to travel another 70 miles in 5 minutes while the battery pack can be charged to 80% of its full capacity in 18 minutes. The car has an onboard 11 Kilowatt charger. This level 2 charger can charge the battery in seven hours which is perfect for overnight charging at home.

A little extra

Ever wanted to take a TV to the campsite? With the EV6 you can now carry it in one of the huge trunks and watch it using a 110 Volt plug provided in the car. This outlet can power appliances and assorted equipment for up to 36 hours. The car has all the space the customer needs. It has two storage compartments, one at the front and another in the back.

The car is very high-tech. It has a heads-up display on the windshield as mentioned earlier. It also has a Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless charging pad, dual 12-inch displays and it can also install software updates over the internet. The car comes with various safeguards such as Kia’s proprietary automatic emergency braking system.

Price

Preorders for the vehicle began on June 3 in the United States where it was revealed in May 2021. Kia EV6 starts at $58500 which does not make it eligible for the United States tax credit for clean energy vehicles that are hybrid and battery electric vehicles. The preorders have started pouring in. 21000 people ordered the car on its launch date. That is a great milestone for any automobile company. Especially, when it is the company’s first car in the electric vehicle sector. For those people interested in the Kia EV6 GT, you have to wait till the end of 2022 to get your hands on one.

The Kia EV6 is a spectacular addition to the electric vehicle sector and is stirring competition in the market. This car is setting new standards for electric vehicle designs. Its bold, progressive and futuristic design will surely lure customers looking to buy electric vehicles in spite of the price.
