A Youtube channel named CARWOW did a race with his friends between 5 performance SUVs. The cars in these videos were Lamborghini Urus, Porsche Turbo GT, BMW X6, Jeep Trackhawk, Tesla Model X. This video had 3 types of races in it – The first one was the Drag race followed by a 1-mile race and finished with a brake line test.
Cars Used in the Race
All the cars used in the videos were top of the line, following are the stats of all the cars:
Porsche Turbo GT
The Porsche Turbo GT has a 4 liter, V8 engine with twin turbos. This engine gives around 640 HP with 850 Nm of torque. The car weighs around 2.2 tonnes. The GT is a 4 wheel drive and has an 8-speed automatic transmission and it is priced at around £143,900.
Lamborghini Urus
The Urus is quite similar to the Porsche GT and it shares most of the same components. Urus has a 4 liter, V8 engine with twin Turbos. It produces about 650 HP and 850 Nm in torque. The car weighs around 2.19 tonnes. Similar to the GT it has 4 wheel drive and 8-speed automatic transmission. The car is priced at around £177,600.
Jeep Trackhawk
The Jeep Trackhawk has the most powerful ICE engine of the lot. It has a 6.2 liter, V8 supercharged engine. This engine manages to produce 707 HP and 875 Nm in torque. This car is also the heaviest of the lot, it weighs around 2.4 tonnes. The features of this car include 4 wheel drive, 8-speed automatic transmission. The car is priced at £90,000.
BMW X6
The BMW X6 is also not different from the other cars. It sports a 4.4 liter, V8 engine which produces 750 Nm of torque and has 625 HP. The car weighs 2.35 tonnes and has features like 4 wheel drive, 8-speed automatic transmission. The X6 is priced at £115,815.
Tesla Model X
The Tesla Model X is the only electric car here. It has 2 electric motors which generate 1140 Nm torque and 780 HP. The car weighs 2.48 tonnes. Model X being electric is completely silent.
The Drag Race
The drag race (¼ mile) was very interesting. They raced against each other thrice. Almost all three times the jeep had a great start, all thanks to the supercharged V8. But failed to finish in the top 3 every time. Tesla took the lead and won in the first race. Porsche came in second, followed by BMW in third place, Jeep in the fourth and Urus came in last.
The second race was a little more closed than the first one. As usual, the jeep took off but Tesla went on the lead. Porsche caught up to it by the end of the race. The Tesla won by a mere couple of inches. The third came in the X6 followed by the Jeep and Urus.
The Last drag race went the same as the second one, except for the changes in fourth and fifth places. The Tesla again won the drag race by a couple of inches from the Porsche. Although Tesla had a good start, the Porsche managed to gain some good speed and catch up to it. The third came in the X6, followed by the Urus in fourth and Jeep in fifth.
The Third Race was timed.

Rolling Race
Roll Racing is a form of street racing that starts from a roll. All races start from a 50 mph roll. The race finishes at the drag strip’s 1-mile finish line. There were a total of 2 rolling races between the cars. The first of the rolling race was from the automatic transmission while the second race was that of manual shifting between the gears.
As the first race began, the Model X took off like a plane keeping the remaining cars behind to fight each other. But halfway through the race, Porsche picked up its speed and managed to overtake Tesla just before the finish line. At the end of the race, Porsche came in first, Tesla in second, BMW in third, followed by Urus in fourth, and Jeep in fifth.
In the Second Race, the cars had to roll up to 50 mph to a certain point, shift into sports mode, and the manual rotation of gears. Similar to the drag races, the Jeep managed to take the lead but failed to keep it. The Tesla overtook it and managed to be the first car till the half-mile mark. But Surprisingly, Porsche and Urus stepped up their game and overtook the Tesla to finish first and second. The third came in Tesla, fourth and fifth were BMW and Jeep respectively.
According to the driver, the reason why the jeep fails to keep up with the competition is because of its design. The design of the Trackhawk isn’t very aerodynamic, causing a lot of air resistance at high speeds. So, the Trackhawk, even though having a great start due to its engine, fails to keep up the acceleration.
Brake Test
The brake test is an interesting concept, where the cars have to accelerate to 100 mph to a certain point and use all of their braking power after that point. The car which has traveled the shortest distance wins the race. The cars took off and braked after the point. The Urus with its incredible brakes was the car to travel the shortest distance. Followed by Porsche and the BMW which traveled almost the same distance. Tesla came in fourth which was rather a bit further from the BMW. The car which traveled the most was the Jeep, even with braking at full force the car had managed to go a long distance, almost the lengths of 2-2.5 cars from the Urus.
Conclusion
Overall, comparing all the races it was safe to say that Tesla Model X came in first and in second place was the Porsche Turbo GT. The shocking thing is that the Urus and Turbo GT have most of the parts in common, plus the Urus is priced higher than the Porsche. Yet it fails to deliver the same kind of performance that the Turbo GT can.
