XPeng Launched G9 Electric SUV With Autopilot Tech & Ability To Charge 200 KM In 5 Minutes

Xiaopeng is a Chinese Electric Vehicle manufacturer which is one the biggest EV producers in China. The company’s electric vehicle lineup began in 2018 with its G3 SUV. Currently, it has 3 models in the market. He Xiaopeng and Xia Heng founded the company which later gained the acronym of XPeng Motors in 2014. The company has headquarters in Guangzhou, China, and has offices in Europe as well as North America.

XPeng Launched G9 Electric SUV

XPeng unveiled its all-new G9 SUV at the Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition in China. G9 has all the latest tech installed. The car has an ambitious modern design and looks elegant too. This is a luxury SUV with many of the comforts available in a Mercedes. The car has a wide body and commands significant attention on the road. XPeng shared that its fourth production model will be the G9. It will arrive as the first designed from the outset for both domestic Chinese and international markets

Autopilot Technology

The car has the latest XPeng’s latest autopilot technology installed named X-Pilot 4.0 ADAS. To aid this autonomous feature of the vehicle the car has various sensors. The engineers have utilized the latest LiDAR sensor technology which is the best type of sensor for any autonomous driving system. Many western companies have avoided using LiDAR sensors in their vehicles. This is due to the damage to the aesthetic beauty of the vehicles.

When LiDAR sensors are used, they are installed on the roof of the vehicle which ruins the aerodynamics as well as the design of the vehicle. However, XPeng has installed these highly precise sensors with no damage to the design of the vehicle. The designers have found an ingenious way to fit these sensors on the car. The sensors are present under the headlight of the vehicle. Where most companies have struggled to place one LiDAR sensor on cars, XPeng is offering two sensors. Due to this, the car’s autonomous driving system will have an edge over its competitors.

G9 is compliant with the C-NCAP and E-NCAP five-star safety design standards, as well as the EU WVTA vehicle certification standards. Chinese electric car manufacturers want to sell their vehicles in international markets. This is one of the reasons why the car was built from the ground up with the highest safety ratings and latest technologies.

The G9 has XPeng’s new X-EEA 3.0 architecture, a proprietary EV platform with integrated hardware, software, and communications. Due to this, the G9 will be able to receive firmware-over-the-air (FOTA) updates in as quickly as 30 minutes, utilizing gigabit ethernet communications. This will help the company to improve the performance of the vehicle. Because of this, customer satisfaction will increase and lead to growth in the company’s market capitalization.

Fast Charging

The company has developed its own 800V electric fast chargers. They revealed these in October 2021. The automaker announced the G9 will use the new-generation XPower 3.0 powertrain system with China’s first 800V high-voltage mass-production SiC platform. As a result, XPeng claims the G9 will be able to charge up to 200 km (124 mi) of range in five minutes, with a maximum energy efficiency of over 95%. This charging speed is through the roof and no other electric vehicle manufacturer provides a direct competitor to it already sold in the market. XPeng said it is also rolling out lightweight 480 kW high-voltage supercharging piles, with 670A+ flow rate capacity and IP67 protection, to provide safer and more convenient charging.

Currently, Xiaopeng is only present in the Chinese market along with some European markets such as Norway. The company has 3 other Electric vehicle models which include G3 SUV, P5, and P7 sedans. P5 is a cost-effective sedan that is in direct competition with the Tesla Model 3. But the car is much cheaper than a Model 3.

The design of Chinese vehicles is getting better over the years. Due to its ambition to launch in the international markets, XPeng has designed some futuristic as well as likable car designs. The cars have light bars on both; the front and back of the vehicle. These lights stretch from one side of the car all the way to the other. This gives the car a fluid look which also feels elegant.

The company has not yet released the specifications of the G9 SUV. Taking into account previous trends of XPeng’s cars we estimate that the range of the G9 will be from 600 kilometers to 720 kilometers. The company calls this car a smart SUV that has intelligent driving systems and has the latest technology for drivers.

Conclusion

This vehicle will be available for sale in late 2022 or early 2023. XPeng will soon release the specifications of the vehicle when a final production unit is ready. Chinese electric cars are getting better every day. China wants its EVs to be sold in foreign markets. This means that electric vehicle companies are building for the world. G9 will soon be available in European and American markets.

  1. “ gives the car a fluid look which also feels elegant.” Something can look graceful and stylish, or be graceful and stylish, but how can it “feel” graceful and stylish. This sounds more like marketing gibberish than review.

Other than that – when can I get one?
