Yet another Elon Musk joke has become a reality, as Tesla launches its tequila brand. The tequila comes in a crazy-looking bottle and costs a bit higher than it normally does. The Tesla CEO has made it a habit of joking about the weirdest things and then making them a reality, and he has now gone one step further.

Beginning of the Joke
Back in 2018, Musk had teased Tesla haters with an April’s Fools joke, saying that the company has gone bankrupt. During that prank, he wrote that he was found passed out by a Tesla Model 3, surrounded by his “Teslaquila” bottles, with the tracks of dried tears still visible on his cheeks.
Later on, the company actually filed for a trademark for the brand “Teslaquila”, although it was contested at the time. Nothing was heard about this issue right up to now.
Yesterday, Tesla went online with its own brand of tequila, known as “Tesla Tequila”. A 750 ml bottle of Tesla Tequila is now available on Tesla’s official website for an expensive price of $250. It is available only in the United States and can be delivered in only those states which allow the delivery of alcohol. The tequila comes in a bottle shaped like a lightning bolt.
The description on the official website reads as follows:
“Introducing Tesla Tequila, an exclusive, small-batch premium 100% de agave tequila añejo made from sustainably sourced highland and lowland agaves. Aged for 15 months in French oak barrels and into a hand-blown glass bottle, Tesla Tequila features a dry fruit and light vanilla nose with a balanced cinnamon pepper finish. Best enjoyed as a sipping tequila.”
Tesla seems to have partnered with Nosotros to produce the product and Speakeasy Co for the distribution. Seeing that the liquor is aged for 15 years is probably the reason Tesla took the time to launch it.
Elon Musk is an eccentric billionaire. He has the audacity to do crazy things and the means to do them as well. Of course, when it comes to Tesla, SpaceX, and The Boring Co., he has proven that he has a vision. But it is the stuff like this that makes him likable for the new generation. He is a crazy guy with a lot of money, and he makes sure his jokes become a reality. Keeping all of this in mind, launching his own tequila brand does not seem that crazy.
