Tesla’s new Vision Park Assist feature is being rolled out to Cybertruck owners with the new 2024.26.11 OTA update. Tesla Vision Park Assist now displays a 3D visualization of nearby objects around your vehicle including the shape and size of nearby objects, barriers, other vehicles, and road markings. This groundbreaking feature offers users valuable parking assistance.

Tesla Vision Park Assist Rolls Out to Cybertruck
A Twitter user @EVBaymax tested out the new feature in his Model 3. His reaction was very positive and he was very surprised to see the accuracy of this feature. Earlier this feature was compatible with Model Y and Model 3 vehicles but now Tesla is rolling it out to additional vehicles including Cybertruck. To turn Chimes on or off, go to Controls > Safety > Park Assist Chimes. Users can also turn it off just like Ultrasonic Sensors if they don’t want to use it. Vision Park Assist offers 360° detection instead of just front and rear.
This time reversing, vision park assist using the rear camera. Distance verified with tape measure as well, within 1-2 inches of accuracy.
Seems to do really well with curbs when it is directly in front of or behind the car. @WholeMarsBlog @klwtts @teslascope pic.twitter.com/Zo6pcaeBkK

Please note that this feature is just for guidance and not to be used as a substitute for a skilled driver.
Working of Vision Park Assist
With the introduction of Vision Park Assist, Tesla has taken a very bold move in its commitment to vision based technology. This new feature doesn’t require USS ( Ultrasonic Sensors) to operate. Although it is not as accurate as the readings and measurements from a USS, it does offer an advantage for the hardware based solution.
The Vision based Park Assist system not only measures distance between the object and vehicle at the front and rear side but also detects and measures it where the USS is not present, providing a 360° coverage around the vehicle.
With the new Tesla Vision Park Assist, Tesla owners without USS can enjoy improved and very efficient parking assistance, making it easier to park in those confined parking spaces. As more and more users get to use this feature, the accuracy of this feature will be improved further and new features will be rolled out in the future.
Cybertruck will start with parking assistance features, given that it ain't exactly the easiest vehicle to park. Initial release is slated for end of this week. FSD for Cybertruck expected in Sep.
