Elon Musk becomes the fourth richest billionaire in the world

Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk’s net worth rose to $84.8 billion on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Elon Musk is now the world’s fourth-richest person after Tesla Inc. shares surged 11% on Monday.

Mr. Musk is also the primary shareholder of privately held SpaceX, as well as a tunneling company which he named The Boring Company, which is tasked with digging tunnels under major metropolitan cities to make a subsurface road network to reduce the congestion of traffic in these extremely busy cities. Musk’s fortune has grown by $57.2 billion this year, marking the second-largest increase on the index after Amazon.com. Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, Tesla has become the most valuable automaker in the world.

On August 8, The chairman of Reliance Industries Mukesh Ambani had become the fourth richest person. He is now placed sixth on the billionaire’s list with a total net worth of $78.8 billion.
