Introduction to Actually Smart Summon

Actually Smart Summon enables Tesla owners to call their car to their specific location or any particular place within Tesla’s mobile application. If you want to learn more, we have covered a similar article in detail here. Unlike previous models of Tesla cars, where ultrasonic sensors are utilized, this feature is meant to run with vision only. Launch of ASS occurs after releasing the new FSD 12.5.3 version integrating some improvements targeting on general performance and safety of the self-driving options of Tesla cars.

The functionality of Actually Smart Summon is straightforward: in the application, the “Come to Me” or “Go to Target” buttons can be held down with the vehicle only halting when the button is released allowing for some user control over the actions of the auto. This new capability not only serves to help with parking motions but also improves usability for people who might be carrying bags of groceries or other items.

Features and Limitations

However, the operating range of Actually Smart Summon in South Korea is significantly lower than in other countries. The maximum range of the vehicle is about 20 meters (65′), which is definitely less than the ranges in markets like the USA or China where distances can be up to 100 meters (328′). This may have been caused by regulatory requirements and local road conditions of the areas where trials have been carried out.

For Actually Smart Summon to work, owners must first make sure that cameras are set up properly, and that they can always see their vehicle when the feature is being used. For now, it is available for Tesla cars with HW4, BUT the company has announced that it will be possible to enable the same on HW3 Tesla cars soon as well.

Autopark Feature

In addition to Actually Smart Summon, Tesla has also brought back its Autopark, enabling cars to parallel park by themselves in available slots. To achieve such, it enhances ASS by allowing the vehicles to transition from parking to retrieval modes without driver interjection. Autopark was previously missing in action after Tesla decided to strip some of its cars of ultrasonic sensors but has since been reconfigured to work optimally with data captured by the car’s cameras.

Future Enhancements

Tesla has said that more improvements are Coming soon for Actually Smart Summon. The next releases will have HomeLink and MyQ integration to enable smart cars to open a garage door before moving to the required destination. In the distance, Tesla also does not plan to allow the users to hold buttons in the app through the usage of the tool during its operation and it might be easier in the subsequent updates to use.

Conclusion

Actually Smart Summon and Autopark launching in South Korea can be regarded as the next significant step toward a future Tesla car with fully autonomous functionality. Thus, based on the best visual recognition software and constant upgrades of new Tesla software, the company can introduce new conveniences to users and keep safety levels at a high level. The necessity and availability of these features will continue to grow and with further advancements, these will contribute a lot towards the advancement of the transport and mobility industry.

While Tesla is advancing every single day in this particular field, the organization’s primary goal is to bring its products to every corner of the world and harmoniously integrate those with local legislation and people’s preferences. The use of ASS in a South Korean automobile is just the first step in the larger process of changing how the citizens in the country operate their vehicles.
