Goodbye Autopilot, Hello Autosteer by FSD
Tesla is formally retiring its ancient Autopilot software. In its stead is Autosteer by FSD, which is a complete part of the FSD package. It is a consolidation of Tesla driving software under the FSD brand, meaning that the company is prepared to move away from its previous, less sophisticated system.
This will be more predictable to drivers and will not require them to switch between FSD and Autopilot functions. It also makes FSD the central driver assistance system in the Tesla fleet.
Parking has long been a weak spot for many driver assistance systems, but FSD v14 aims to master it. Tesla vehicles will now be able to navigate parking lots, identify appropriate spaces, and park themselves upon arrival at the destination.
