Tesla has once again created suspense in the EV community after releasing its new “Sustainable Abundance” video. One of the minor but noticeable details visible to fans is miniature models of what appear to be Cyber SUV prototypes sitting on shelves inside Tesla’s design studio. The shrunken vehicles shown behind the clay Cybercab model give the impression that Tesla has at least thought about including a Cyber SUV in its product range.
Although it has not been officially confirmed yet, the images suggest several SUV models, all heavily inspired by the legendary stainless steel layout of the Cybertruck. This has prompted fans and pundits to theorize that Tesla is poised to expand the Cyber family beyond the pickup and the upcoming robotaxi.
Cyber DNA: Stainless Steel, Sharp Angles, Bold Vision
The introduction of the Cybertruck in 2019 changed the appearance of an electric vehicle. Its exoskeleton-like design with its angular construction defied traditional automotive design and placed durability over curves. If Tesla is indeed working on a Cyber SUV, the new models indicate that the same brushed stainless steel finish, combined with the same geometrical lines, will be at the center of the design.
From a branding perspective, it would be a good idea to extend this DNA into a Cyber SUV. It would build a family of vehicles, Cybertruck, Cybercab, and possibly Cyber SUV, with a common design philosophy that would allow them to stand out among other EVs and even traditional alternatives.

Why a Cyber SUV Makes Sense for Tesla
SUVs are among the most rapidly expanding segments in the world car market, and their demand is booming in North America, Europe, and Asia. Tesla has an opportunity to take a significant portion of the EV crossover and SUV market by launching a Cyber SUV, which is already getting more competitive with the entry of Rivian, Ford, Hyundai, and BMW.
Cyber SUV may be a niche product because of the family-friendliness of the SUV concept and the all-wheel drive capabilities of the exoskeleton used on the Cybertruck. It would attract the customers who are interested in it.
Speculation: Variants and Features
The models observed are more than one Cyber SUV design, but it could have different size classes or different utility. An urban-friendly Cyber crossover might work with smaller markets, and a full-sized Cyber SUV might be aimed at families and adventurers. Tesla has an opportunity to fully capitalize on its 4680 battery technology and structural pack design to be as efficient and range-conscious as possible in these models.
Features could include:
- All-wheel drive with dual or triple-motor
- Ability to tow competitively with the Cybertruck
- Improved seating that is designed to carry five or seven passengers.
- Support for an autonomy suite that is compatible with Tesla Robotaxi
In summary, although the Cyber SUV has yet to be officially confirmed, Tesla’s history suggests that when it is on the shelves, it is on the table. The brand is known to test cars way before they are released into the market. Since the SUV market is an important one, it would not be surprising that one day Tesla will finally reveal a Cyber SUV as a continuation of its expanding Cyber brand.
