Both three-cylinder petrol units make 63bhp and 100bhp, respectively. The engines come mated to a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic. These are the same engine which Third Generation Maruti Jimny. Honestly speaking it is not a lot even in a small car-dependent market like India. Enter the Jimny Sierra- it will be offered with Suzuki’s new 1.5-litre petrol motor and this is the engine that will power the European spec Jimny when it is launched later this year.
Evolution
If you study the history of Suzuki Jimny you will see that this fourth generation car looks like an evolution of the first car rather than an altogether new model. It might be the fourth generation for Suzuki’s most legendary SUV, but the formula remains unchanged. It’s a ladder on the frame for this new Jimny with an independent front suspension and rigid rear axle. There is locking differential and AWD as optional extras and round headlamps, boxy silhouette and lifted stance commonly associated with ladder-on-frame models.
Exterior (Body)
The exterior of Suzuki Jimny looks very muscular, It gives you feeling that you are driving a stronger and well-built vehicle like Mahindra Thar. One of the cons of Suzuki Jimny is its just a three-door car and it looks kinda old-fashioned but in the real world it might grab a lot of attention on the road, So if you want to buy a car which has the muscular body you should definitely consider and wait for this one.
Final Words
The Suzuki Jimny has got a huge fan base all over the world. Many Indians are waiting for a ‘Maruti Jimny’ ever since the Gypsy was stopped from mass-production. While we still do not have a confirmation whether the Jimny will make it to Indian markets at least this time, these are the things you should expect in the 2018 Suzuki Jimny. But in short, the Suzuki Jimny is definitely one vehicle India deserves to get.
