15 years ago, a man called Elon Musk founded the company and made a master plan to take the automobile industry to a new level. one of his company’s masterpieces is the Tesla Model X. A full-size all-electric SUV that depending on the battery’s energy content can go from 237 to 295 miles per charge. It has got a price tag that varies from $85.5k to $140k, it is the first electric SUV in the market. Now throughout the world automakers are making their vehicles more fuel efficient and environmentally friendly. There are six SUVs that will be launched in 2019 which could give competition to the Tesla Model X.

It has three electric motors- one in the front and two in the rear which delivers a combined 320-kilowatt power output that can reach 370 kilowatts in the boost mode enabling the vehicle to hit 60 miles per hour in 4.5 seconds. the 95-kilowatt-hours lithium-ion battery pack will provide a real-world range close to 270 miles per charge. The vehicle comes with a wireless charging technology and the solar roof for additional electric power. The reservations are open for some European countries and buyers can secure their spots for $2,700.

Mercedes is going to launch their first all-electric SUV in 2019 called the EQC. Mercedes-Benz EQC will be the first production vehicle of their new generation EQ family. The new generation of the vehicles will be based on an architecture built on the Intelligence, multi-material mix of steel aluminum and carbon fiber. The EQC is equipped with two electric motors on the front and rear for a total output of 300 kilowatts that helps the vehicle reach 60 miles per hour in less than 5 seconds. The battery pack has a total capacity of 70-kilowatt-hours and is expected to provide a real-world range of around 250 miles per charge. The company has started testing the prototype in the streets before the final production and it’s expected to have a price tag of about $45,000.

Kia unveiled their second-generation all-electric vehicle at the 2018 CES event. The Niro EV is an all-electric compact SUV that comes with a new advanced safety system. The 150-kilowatt electric motor is powered by a 64 kilowatt-hours high capacity battery pack that provides 238 miles of range on a single charge. The advanced safety features like active pedestrian warning system use forward-facing cameras to identify pedestrians and cyclists crossing in front of the car and alerts visually and audibly. Kia cooperates with Amazon Web Services for facial and voices recognition system to adjust settings automatically according to the drivers’ preferences. Kia says the vehicle will go into production in late 2018 and is expected to have a price tag of $39000.

The Chinese automaker NIO that has already amazed the world with its EP9 electric supercar has officially unveiled their first production vehicle called the ES8. This car will go on sale in 2019, The ES8 is a full-size all-electric high-performance SUV that will be initially available for China market before arriving in the US in 2020. This is driven by two electric motors for a total output of 480 kilowatts. It is able to reach 60 miles per hour in 4.4 seconds. 70-kilowatt hours liquid cooled lithium-ion battery pack is expected to provide a real-world 180 miles of range per charge. The vehicle is equipped with an advanced autonomous driving assistance system. The intelligence AI system always gains information and learns its driver and passengers’ self-interests to meet their needs. The ES8 has a starting price of $68000 and considering the fact that Tesla Model X starts at $127000 in China, the vehicle could pose a serious competition to the Model X.

Audi also plans to launch their second all-electric SUV under the E-Tron brand called the E-Tron Sportback. It will be available to buy in 2019 and is expected to share similar performance as the Quattro but in a sportier behavior. The SUVs will be possible to charge with 150 kilowatt CCS fast charging option which means they can gain more than 80 percent or 200 miles of charge in half an hour. Audi says the production versions of their all-electric SUVs will not differ much from the concepts unveiled.

Byton is another Chinese based car company which unveiled its first all-electric vehicle during the 2018 CES event that goes into production in 2019. The Byton is a mid-luxury SUV that combines the new generation smart device features like smart mobility and autonomous driving. Inside, it’s equipped with a massive display screen with 5G connectivity and an advanced machine learning system to provide a lot of options for entertainment. Byton’s live cloud platform can understand the drivers and passengers preferences by connecting all the applications data and devices. Through the steering wheel-based tablet, the driver can control and adjust the cabin settings. Byton offers two powertrain options for the production SUVs. The base model comes with a 200 kilowatts single motor powered by 71-kilowatt hour battery pack that can provide 250 miles of range per charge. It’s very close to the base version of the Model X by its battery capacity and is priced at $45,000.

The I-PACE is Jaguars first all-electric five-seater SUV. Participating in racing in Formula E, Jaguars engineers and designers gain the necessary learnings and experience to bring their first all-electric luxury sporty vehicle to the road with the more powerful high-tech battery pack. It has a future looking design and innovative aluminum architecture. The Jaguar says the production vehicle may vary in final styling and finish details. It has 2 electric motors along with all-wheel-drive capabilities and aerodynamic design which enabled a vehicle to sprint from 0 to 60 miles/hr in around four seconds and achieve more than 220 miles of range on a single charge. The Jaguar I-PACE is really spacious with luxurious rear passenger legroom. Jaguar is actively testing the prototype on the road as well as during snow before the final production.
