Hyundai unveiled the Ioniq 5 last week and has left many people impressed with the overall design. With its long wheelbase, it has surpassed some of Hyundai’s seven-seater vehicles too. This means that there is extra space for both the front as well as rear row. The hatchback-like design in crossover-like dimensions has given people a lot to cheer about.
Now, a close-up video of the Ioniq 5 has also excited many people. This video shows silver front and rear plastic design elements. There are also some black-coloured side elements that extend over the wheel arches too. Yes, plastic design elements can be black too.
The charging slot looks similar to Tesla Model 3, which is obviously a good thing. Under the hood, there is a neat little cable compartment, instead of the usual frunk. The glove box is in the form of a drawer, and the overall interior has a very spacious look.

Hyundai has started its preparations for a major electrification phase. According to the company, they will introduce up to 25 new battery electric vehicles (BEVs) in the coming five years. The beginning of this electrification will start on the Electric-Global Modular Platform, under the sub-brand of Ioniq. This platform is fast becoming a popular one in the electric vehicle market, interesting even Apple for their production vehicle.
Ioniq 5 is the first electric car on this platform. While the overall specs may not be competitive against the Tesla Model Y yet, they will improve. And the spacious interior and funky exterior will definitely attract customers.
